# Glance

Glance is an early-access status-sharing app for friends, partners and family. Share availability, connect selected Google calendars, and see shared statuses in home-screen widgets. GIF status sharing is planned.

## Status sharing
Publish one current availability status, optional message, and an end time. People connect by invite link; the owner separately chooses who may see their status.

## Google Calendar
Connect selected work and personal Google calendars into a private day view. Automatic shared availability is explicit opt-in and can be paused. Manual statuses take priority. Calendar titles, guests and private schedule details do not appear in contact widgets. Live availability depends on deployment configuration; the website links to app stores only when official download URLs are configured. Otherwise Android and iPhone apps are marked Coming soon.

## Widgets
A home-screen widget displays statuses shared with you, for one person or several. Check before calling; tap a person for details in Glance. Refresh timing depends on the device.

## GIF status sharing: planned
The planned feature pairs a chosen GIF with text or emoji. Glance shows the full status; home-screen widgets use a still preview. No shared playback synchronization is promised.

## Use cases

- Partners: understand a Busy status without seeing private events.
- Family: read “Call me after dinner” before a check-in.
- Study and work: see Focusing and its end time.

## Early access
The website collects an email address, consent, submission time and form location in a private Google Sheet when its collector is configured. A button click is not proof of a saved email: success requires backend confirmation. No email addresses are included in analytics events.

## Contact
Use the contact form on the website for app support, feedback, partnerships or general questions. Name is optional; email, topic, message and permission to reply are required. Messages are stored in the private Contact messages tab of the owner’s Google Sheet when configured. This is separate from early-access signup and does not automatically email a team inbox. Request IDs prevent duplicate saves when retrying a message.

## Analytics
Optional Plausible or Google Analytics 4 is configured by the owner. This implementation loads tracking only after analytics opt-in. Preferences can be changed in the footer.
